Leaflet ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our iOS app.
The short version: We don't collect your personal data. Your reading history stays on your devices and in your personal iCloud account.
Data We Don't Collect
Unlike many apps, Leaflet does not collect:
- Your reading history or book library
- Personal information (name, email, etc.)
- Usage analytics or behavioral data
- Location data
- Device identifiers for tracking
How Your Data is Stored
All your book data—your library, reading progress, notes, and statistics—is stored in your personal iCloud account. This means:
- Your data is encrypted with your personal Apple ID credentials
- Only you can access your reading history
- We have no servers storing user data
- We literally cannot see what books you read
On-Device AI
Our AI-powered book recommendations feature processes data entirely on your device using Apple's on-device machine learning capabilities. Your reading history is never sent to external servers for AI processing.
Third-Party Services
Leaflet uses the following third-party services:
- Apple iCloud: For syncing your library across devices (your personal account)
- Open Library / Google Books: For book metadata lookup (ISBN searches)
- Apple App Store: For subscription management and crash reports
We do not use any advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or tracking services.
Crash Reports
If you opt-in to sharing crash data with developers (an iOS system setting), Apple may collect anonymous crash reports. These reports don't contain your reading data or personal information.
Children's Privacy
Since we don't collect any personal data, Leaflet is safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your Rights
Since all your data is stored in your iCloud account, you have complete control:
- Access: View all your data directly in the app
- Export: Export your library anytime (Premium feature)
- Delete: Delete the app to remove all local data
- iCloud: Manage iCloud data through Apple's settings
